  • Both approaches provide a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours to gain self-awareness and find some sort of solution.

Counselling and Therapy tend to focus on experiences in the past and how these may impact current thoughts, feelings and behaviours (Why am I like this/ what is the reason that I tend to/ why don't I feel that I can). A counsellor will be able to help identify issues you feel you have, how these might have come about and coping mechanisms and strategies for dealing with these.

Coaching acknowledges that your past has a role to play in shaping who you are and how you feel and behave, however the focus is on moving forwards and enabling and empowering positive change (what can I do to/ how can I feel/ What steps shall I take to change). With coaching we identify goals and are able to resolve problems by creating a path to achieve success.

I am qualified in both coaching and counselling. Although I offer coaching, I often will, with the clients’ permission, draw on the other skills and tools from my other qualifications and learning experiences.

  • Choosing the right coach is an important decision. You need to feel that you have a connection and that your coach really gets you and what you are looking to achieve. I offer a free no obligation 15-minute chemistry fit meeting. This is a chance for you to establish whether you feel I am the right person to help you with your journey. We can talk through your situation and your ambitions, and you can get a sense of whether I might the right person to support you in achieving your goals.

  • In my experience I have found that 6-8 sessions work for most clients. They tend to feel they have a clear path of what they want to achieve, feel more confident in their approach to achieve these and have seen progress in their everyday lives.

  • Yes I do. My research has shown that it is helpful for clients to commit to 6 sessions in order to feel they have made significant progress and change to their lives. That is why I have structured the services  into a 6 session package or booster package of 8 sessions

Some clients may also feel that they just want a refresher or that they might not require the full 6 sessions. This is fine too and we can tailor a solution that works for you.

  • Sessions typically take place remotely over Google Meet. Some clients prefer to meet or have an introductory session in person which is also a good way to get to know each other and see if you feel I could be a good fit for you. I have also found some clients to enjoy walk and talk coaching which can enhance cognitive function and foster a more relaxed and open environment making it easier for some clients to open up and discuss more difficult topics.

Corporate coaching sessions can take place at your workplace or remotely depending on the type of coaching programme. The most important thing is about making these sessions accessible to you and so that they work for you.

  • Confidentiality is a cornerstone of my coaching practice.

As an accredited coach with both the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), I adhere to their professional codes of ethics. This means that everything discussed in our sessions remains strictly confidential. I will not share any information about you or what we discuss without your explicit permission.

The only exception to confidentiality are where there is a legal obligation or a serious risk of harm to you or others. These limits will always be explained clearly at the outset.

If your coaching is funded by your employer, we will agree in advance what information (if any) is shared with them. Personal session content remains private.
